Structured Health Resources Inc., a disability prevention and management firm headquartered in Des Plaines, IL has extended its services worldwide via the Virtual Ergonomics Assessment.
Until now, ergonomic consulting has been provided on-site; assistance in remote locations and for telecommuters, small businesses and home office users has not been readily available and affordable.
The Virtual Ergonomics Assessment is a unique approach that delivers a comprehensive Ergonomics Assessment via the Internet. With the virtual approach, the benefit of a professional Ergonomic Assessment is available to anyone, anywhere, without paying travel expenses or inviting a stranger into one's home.
"We are so excited to provide this easy-to-use approach to ergonomic assessments," commented Sara Taylor Eggleston, President and founder of Structured Health Resources. "With this new virtual tool, we can apply our fifteen years of experience at assessing and addressing ergonomic needs on-site to help establish healthier workstation environments anywhere in the world."
The Virtual Ergonomics Assessment is completed through three easy steps:
1. Order an assessment (through PayPal for individuals or invoicing for employers)
2. Complete an online questionnaire and checklist and provide three digital images of the individual at their workstation
3. Participate in a virtual (Telephone or Skype) meeting with an Ergonomic Consultant
"The response to this new approach confirms the value of a virtual approach to ergonomics," says Eggleston.
"I was skeptical at first, not understanding how this could be accurate or effective virtually -- but after participating I am really impressed with my improved comfort, as are my co-workers who had assessments," said Carol Dubritsky, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator for the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, MI.
"Minor changes made during the assessment helped tremendously," commented telecommuter Gavin Jewell, Sector Development Leader, BASF Engineering Plastics. "I am much more comfortable at my computer as a result of the changes...the leg cramping I had experienced disappeared immediately."
"I experienced an amazing decrease in symptoms with the changes," said Kay Hammond, an attorney in Grand Rapids MI. "Thank you for so quickly diagnosing the problems with my workstation and helping me rectify them. Great service you provide!"
